We were searching the internet for alternatives to the Provale cup when we came across yours. Our biggest issue with provale cups is leaking. The lid does not seal tightly and they warp easily in the dishwasher. Your cup seemed to fix the seal issue, and the fact that you could also use a straw was perfect. We occasionally have used the SafeStraw with patients, but it gets thrown away frequently by mistake. We have two patients who currently use bolus limiting cups, but one is 5cc and one is 10 cc. We thought it would be easier for the staff to have different colors for different patients (instead of trying to train for and keep track of the key).

...So far we have used it with adults with developmental disability. The adjustable dispensing size, the handles, and the nosey cup top were all amazing features. I like how it’s shaped reducing biting in the rim.

(Link) Helped make it safer to drink. We had to help my Aunt drink all liquids with a teaspoon...this cup allowed us to dial the amount of liquid, allowed for HOT liquids and SHE could hold the cup via either one or both handles. That allowed her a small bit of independence!

(Link) I ordered a Rije cup for my facility. I haven't had much opportunity to use it yet, but I did trial it with a patient who is a quadriplegic who has regained some use of his arms, but not enough to tilt a cup. He was able to hold the handles (they're HUGE on the Rije cup) and tilt the cup just enough to allow the liquid to flow through the control mechanism and then use a straw. That's one of the neat things about the Rije; you can use it like a nosey cup or with a straw.
(Link)… I tried it with water. It was easy to set up and drink from. Seems like it should be a staple item in every full care nursing facility!
Anyone with dysphagia, limited movement, tremor, poor coordination/grasping, or those who are at risk of aspiration can use this cup to drink safely and independently, to secure not only proper hydration, but basic dignity as well.

(Link) I like the idea of this cup, but we are still working on the execution - perhaps we found it too late. My grandmother (93) has dysphagia and arthritis. She can grip the cup pretty well but has difficulty tipping it far enough to get the small amount of water. If dysphagia were her only problem I think it would work quite well.
(Link) Thes Dysphagia cups have greatly improved the quality of my husband's life. before using these cups, he could only drink thickened drinks without choking on them, but he didn't like the taste of the thickener. Now he can drink regular orange juice, coffee, etc, without choking. I would highly recommend them to anyone with choking issues when drinking fluids.
I love Rije cups! I’ve seen them and recommended them for years. I think they are great for thin and nectar thick liquids. What a great product. I am very happy to have one to show to patients.
